"The Rules are the same everywhere"

This is a sign that is on base... I tried to drive this speed and my car was almost stopped in the road. BUT if you go over they WILL pull you over! I know because I got pulled over on Saturday when I was going to pick up a few things from the commissary. I went through the check in point at the gate and the guy at the gate was bored and was trying to make conversation with me. Then after I made it through the maze they have at the front gate, I turned left and was just driving down a road that goes in front of the "police station." Then there is a stop sign right in front of the gym and you take a left there. After I did, I looked in my rear view mirror and there were lights... like red and blue lights... like a cop car's lights! I was seriously being pulled over. Are you kidding me?! After like five minutes of sitting there waiting for him to approach my car, he started in a very aggressive tone chewing me out because the zone I was driving in was apparently a 10 mph zone and I was was going 17. But every road on base has a different speed limit , some 10, some 20, some 5. All I told him was that "I am not used to driving on a base." He said, "Well, the rules are same everywhere. I need your liscence, registration, and insurance." It is weird cause you just feel like you are on a college campus or something. I didn't even know there were speed limit signs until Saturday! Anyway, he ended up letting me go without any penalty. I think he was just really bored and thought it made him feel all important to be all authoritative to me. I talked to the cashier at the Nex and she said they just do like a point system anyway. They don't actually give tickets on base. Thank goodness! The Good Lord knows I cannot afford that right now. Anyway, from now on I am going to make sure to read the signs and go the speed limit!

Cheese Wafers and Sweet Tea

So continuing on with the whole sweet tea theme... When he asked if I would bring "treats" to the meeting, I thought hummmm.... Does he want brownies or something? Then I saw him write a global note on the Outlook calender saying that "I promised to bring Georgia treats!" So I told him that I would bring cheese wafers/straws and sweet tea to the presentation that I am giving to their firm on Aug. 7! Gotta leave a legacy here in Seattle one way or another. I am going to be known all over Seattle as the rep who brings cheese wafers and sweet tea! Sounds like a great afternoon snack to me... Wonder what these Seattlites will think of it?

No use crying over spilt sweet tea

So I made the mistake last night of putting hot freshly brewed sweet tea in a chilled pitcher straight out of our fridge! You guessed it. The stupid thing completely broke and sweet tea rushed over every poor square inch of my counter west of the stove! Then it waterfalled over the side and down to the floor via the front of the cabinets. Uuuurrgghh! I really wanted some sweet tea with my popcorn. I had even held off eating the popcorn til the tea finished brewing because I just know what a dynamite combination the two of them are together. Oh, well no use crying over spilt sweet tea. What is done is done! hahaha. I waited til today to try it again.
